Day 16 - Friday 7/3/2026 - Raging River Bridge BC to Liard Hot Springs BC

We drove about 77 miles today.  After sleeping down by the river in a van 😂 at the Raging River Bridge, we lazily made our way towards Liard Hot Springs Provincial Park.

The drive past Muncho Lake was unbelievably beautiful.  The water was an amazing color of blue most likely caused by the silt coming off the mountains.

We left our sticker with the others there.

No wildlife to note except this tiny little baby snowshoe hare who was resting on a speed bump at the park entrance (we made sure the little guy made it away safely).

Next was Trout River, which was light blue water running extremely fast and full.

It met with the Liard River, which is huge!  This is the bridge over the Liard River (we have crossed some of the most incredible amazing bridges in Canada).

Just past the river is the Liard River Hot Springs Park, our home for the next two nights.  The camping fee includes unlimited entry into the hot springs.  Woo Hoo!

The hot springs are located in Bear and Wildlife country so we had to enter in/out of the area through an electric fence at designated gates and follow a very nicely constructed boardwalk to our destination.  A caution sign at the gate indicated that a bear had been in the vicinity and seen as recent as the day before yesterday!

Tonight's dinner is pork roast, macaroni and cheese, and roasted broccoli from our homemade freeze-dried stash.  It was so delicious - we are still amazed at how well the freeze-dried meals are working out.

Favorite bird today:  White-throated sparrow

The NOAA Aurora prediction for tonight seems to indicate that if it ever gets dark here, we might see the northern lights!  We will certainly try to find them.  ER150 has a roof hatch above the king size bed area where we can climb out onto the solar panels (which we can walk on).  That will be where we go to watch tonight.
