Today we drove 283 miles from Smith Fork Campground north of Kansas City MO, (luckily didn't take the turn to Oregon ha-ha)
and then Nebraska (and inadvertently THROUGH Omaha at rush hour too - it was bad!),
and arrived at our camp spot for tonight at Maskenthine Lake Recreation Area near Stanton NE.
We have never seen so many cornfields during a journey! The weather was beautiful all day, and our campground, and the whole surrounding area, is unbelievable! So beautiful, and birds singing everywhere. Tomorrow we're going to have a slow morning and enjoy this cool weather and place before moving on to the next one.
A quick 15 minute stroll around the campground when we arrived indicated we heard these birds. This will be an amazing place for birding! The Orchard Oriole was our favorite!
